What Happens When Data Drives Politics?

By

A political campaign is much like the enterprise today in that data is an invaluable resource. As more firms deploy analytics solutions, more benefits are realized and more use cases are out there to prove the value of such an implementation. And, while the enterprise is experiencing an uptick in technology adoption, so too is the political realm. Data-driven solutions are mission critical to success.

This is the reason why in the current campaign cycle, politicians are putting around 10 percent of media budgets, or around $1 billion toward social media. This burgeoning networking medium allows campaigns to raise money, increase members and recruit volunteers but it is an important tool for hearing the voice of the voting public and leveraging this feedback into tangible results.

To address this growing demand, CFB Strategies has brought Campaign Cloud. The cloud-based data solution was developed on Salesforce platform and provides campaigns, not-for-profits as well as companies, the ability to monitor and attain data-driven goals.

“Technology is an integral part of today's political campaigns – and it has changed the way campaigns are organized, executed and analyzed. Real-time, accurate data drives campaign management decisions, helping candidates 'listen' to what specific audiences are saying about specific issues, allowing them to respond effectively," said Trace Anderson, Founder and President, CFB Strategies told TMC.

The Campaign Cloud keeps all relevant data in one easily, accessible hub. One can build reports, dashboards and schedule updates, add donation forms and credit card processors, leverage mapping, organize and manage staff, find strategy consulting and the solution also collects phone call results in real-time (VoIP and robo-dials).

Anderson continued, "It's not only campaigns that can harness technology's power to recruit volunteers and raise money – non-profits and businesses can also benefit from data management to measure, track and meet their data-driven goals."

The benefits of analytics are clear, the power in data-driven decisions are the results. And, for political candidates vying for publicly elected office, the one thing they can rely on is cold hard data. So as politicians continue to pander and polls point every which way, analytics aim at an Election Day celebration.

Now, get your data out of the ‘lock-box’ and add a little ‘strategery’, with data-driven decisions.
